365 Hours of Stillness #meditation #mindfulness #stillness

365 Hours of Stillness. drum roll.............I have just set a goal and it will help if I share it with you because…it may get lost in the school holidays when I put my goals to the side…. not this one. My new goal is….to experience 365 Hours Of Stillnes s… So for each day over the next year I will be still, practicing a deep relaxation and meditation for an hour, and I will share with you how this practice changes my life….I am very curious as to what happens when yoga and meditation has a dedication, motivation and clear intention behind it. Will I be in tune with the power that creates synchronicity, opportunity, present moment exquisite beauty and a sense of aliveness..the breath, love ?  I look forward to 365 days from now and how I feel….but happy to go one day at a time….curiously exploring the power of stillness.  Week 1. day 1 22/9/14 I practice a deep relaxation for ½ hour and then sit in meditation for

10 things I want my daughters to know #hayhouseworkshopahugesuccess

Pam Grout and I at the HayHouse Writers Workshop #pamgrout #hayhousewritersworkshop I have just spent a whole weekend at the inspiring Hay House Writers Workshop in Sydney. I met some of the most successful authors in the world, Pam Grout, Bronnie Ware, Martina Sheehan, Susan Pearse and the wonderful Jess Ainscough, with her hugely popular book, Make Peace with your Plate. It really was so inspiring, not only to hear all the inside tips on how to get our ideas published but to be surrounded by so many other people who love to write. Everyone I spoke with has an incredible story to tell and Hay House encouraged us all to express our unique voice. So here is a taster for you, of my potential new book. T hings I want my daughters to know. 1/ Don’t miss the detail – When you live mindfully, everyday has a new surprise and you live in wonder of what a truly incredible journey we are all on. (I mean it, STOP and have a good look around…)

Embrace the season you stand in - it is singing to you.

Dont pack your winter woolies away just yet. The sun pops out and spring appears and then a frosty morning makes everything sparkle and shiver. It is so lovely watching the bare branches come to life again. For today I have a quote to share, written by 'Gyalwa Dokhampa' from The Restful Mind, 'And then something happens that stops the world for a moment and reminds us why we do what we do. This is the seed that is nourished and cared for by the restful mind.' So for the week ahead may your mind rest at times on the gift that is Spring. Embrace the season you stand in and let its detail fill you up with happiness.

Look around and enjoy todays unique detail - Its Spring!!

It is the first day of the best season of all, Spring. The fog lifts to show off a sunny 20 degree day full of blossoms, sprouting grape vines, flowering bulbs and lush green grass.  Our region doesn’t always look so ‘green’ but when we are blessed with good rain, spring looks alive and fresh, full of hope and optimism.  We check the crops and the mustard plants are starting to flower. We don’t have any canola in this year but the neighboring paddocks are a wonderful carpet of yellow. We have wheat, oats, mustard and barley planted and everything looks good so far. The little lambs are getting stronger and are starting a play together along the dam banks. I check them on the bike again and really enjoy scooting along the dirt lanes and into the grazing paddocks. I have had a really productive fortnight jumping in and helping when needed and getting the bookwork up to date. Howard is preparing for harvest and hay cutting, as we start to look
